Dr. Hinckley received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College, cum laude. He next completed medical school at Harvard Medical School. Following his internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, Dr. Hinckley performed his clinical residency in ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. Following residency, Dr. Hinckley was an active instructor of ophthalmology to residents at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Hinckley is also an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hinckley’s clinical focus is medical ophthalmology. He is on staff at the Newton Wellesley Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Tufts New England Medical Center and the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Hinckley is a past president of the New England Ophthalmologic Society and remains an Executive Board member of the Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the New England Ophthalmologic Society to honor his many contributions to the field of ophthalmology in the New England region. Dr. Hinckley was also presented with the Distinguished Teaching Award from the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary.
